Exclusive Coach House on Private Country Estate

Our converted coach house is the perfect romantic holiday location for a long weekend, or for an unusual and unique stay to explore the local countryside in Bedfordshire. Enjoy sitting by the lakeside fire pit and traditional wood fired hot-tub, perfect for summer evenings and winter nights. Take advantage of the miles of footpaths straight out of the front door or take a little drive to one of the many local attractions.

And for rainy days, you’ll have access to high speed internet, Netflix and a range of board games; whether you decide to sit in the spacious living room or snuggle up in the old converted grooms loft.

As this is a private home visitors are not allowed during your stay. Unfortunately dogs cannot be accommodated.

If you book for 4 or less people but require three double beds there will be an additional charge of £35 for your stay to cover the additional linen.

The traditional wood fired, cedar hot tub by the lake, a short walk from the Coach House, is the idyllic location to chill out; or to warm yourself on the open fire pit.

The Accommodation

Built in 1885 as a coach house and stable block to the main house, the cottage was converted into accommodation for the Women's Land Army in WWII (you can still see some of their names inscribed into the beams).

The unique holiday property has been fully renovated with underfloor heating and walk-in showers. Open plan living/dining room, two ground floor bedrooms (one with en-suite), shower room and a snug/third bedroom in the old grooms loft (with sofa bed).

Egyptian cotton sheets and fluffy white cotton towels are provided.

Location

We are close to two lovely Georgian market towns - Woburn and Ampthill - both with an array of independent shops and restaurants. Our favourite eateries include the Michelin Recommended Paris House within the deer park at Woburn Abbey and Masterchef finalist Steve Barringer’s Eileens in Ampthill.

We also have Woburn Safari Park and Aqua Sana Spa on our doorstep and, as we’re right on the edge of the Chiltern Hills (an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) National Trust sites Dunstable Downs and Ashridge are just a stone's throw away.
