About

One of Britain’s Historic Houses, Toddington Park is the family home of James and Sarah and their dogs.

Built in 1826, Park House is grade II listed set within 30 acres comprised of formal lawns, wildflower meadow, a one acre lake, ponds, arboretum, paddocks and woodland. The grounds also contain a Victorian model dairy.

The Coach House, which was built in 1884 as stabling for ten horses and garage space for two carriages, has been recently refurbished as holiday accommodation.

Rewilding

Despite having no prior experience or knowledge, James has taken a keen interested in re-introducing natural habitats within the Park.

In 2023 we planted 7000 saplings to create nearly a mile of hedge, as well as planting 50 large specimen trees to continue the work of previous owners. The arboretum now contains over 100 different species. In 2024, over 8 acres of wildflower meadow were sown.

Planned projects include the creation of wetland, building wild bee hives and renovation of the kitchen garden using sustainable no-dig methods. If anyone is interested in helping with any of these projects please get in touch.

Victorian Dairy

Built from glazed bricks to provide a clean working environment, it has a sunken tiled floor which remains damp all year round for cooling and an unused dovecot above. The original stain glass window remains at the rear, though the front have sadly been replaced. We plan to re-instate the dovecot shortly, and to begin some repairs and renovation to the building later on.

Our one acre lake is home to all sorts of wildlife throughout the year; from moorhens and Canadian geese to herons and cormorants
